General Expectations

Impervious is a mature, friendly guild and all members are expected to behave in that regard. We have a comfortable, respectful environment between our members and it is to stay that way. We have a good reputation that we wish to maintain and it is each member’s responsibility to realize than anything they say or do while wearing the Impervious tag reflects back on the guild as a whole. The following are general guidelines on what is expected from Impervious members.

    • Read the forums several times a week, preferably daily. This is the only way to be informed of guild activities and changes.

    • Be respectful and honorable. Behave in a mature manner. Blatant rudeness is not acceptable.

    • Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal harassment, abusive or disruptive behavior, griefing, ninja looting, kill stealing, begging, spamming or scamming.

    • Be courteous of others. While this is an adult guild, we do have younger members and members with small children that may be reading and can certainly overhear Ventrilo. Excessive profanity, swearing, or otherwise offensive or improper language is not allowed in any guild channel.

    • Greedy people are not welcome here. Do not monopolize loot. There are other people in raids with you that are working just as hard and they deserve rewards as well. Be aware that what is a tiny upgrade for you may be a huge upgrade for someone else.

    • Drama queens/kings need not apply. If you believe the world revolves around you, please find another world to inhabit.

    • Help your fellow guild mates. If someone needs help and you are available, please make an effort to provide that help. On the other hand, do not spam guild chat with help requests or begging. By all means, if you need help, ask for it. Do not make it your only contribution to guild chat however. If you ask and do not get a response right away, do not get offended or become angry. It is very possible that people missed your request due to instances or other distractions, or that they are simply busy at that time.

    • Constructive suggestions are always welcome. Open criticism is not. Do not be rude to each other. If you are having a problem in an area, please approach an officer or another knowledgeable player to give you some advice.

    • Do not spam raid leaders during a raid. If you have a valid concern or question, please address it to an officer that is not leading the raid. They will direct you appropriately.

    • If you join a pick up group, it does not mean that you can slack off or misbehave. Treat any group you enter the same as you would a guild group. Remember, you represent the guild due to the <Impervious> tag above your head.

Guild Bank and Contributions

The guild bank is in place primarily to serve the needs of raiding. Other items will also be stored, such as patterns, armor, enchanting supplies, etc. If you find an item that might be beneficial to the guild bank, please send it in. Be aware that many things are required for a guild to raid successfully, such as flasks, potions, resistance gear, etc. As you come across these items or the herbs, ore, or other components for these items, a donation to the bank would be very much appreciated. Greens are also appreciated as they can be Disenchanted into enchanting Mats.

If your Raider needs anything from the bank, please contact an officer so that we can get the item for you.

Alts may buy items from the bank at discounted prices.

Conflict Resolution and Discipline

Impervious is an adult guild and we expect all members to treat each other in a mature and courteous manner. If however a dispute or issue should arise, the following steps should be taken.

    • Attempt to calmly settle any issues privately between individuals if possible.

    • If an issue involves more than 2 people or is too heated for discussion, contact a Guild Officer to arrange for mediation.

    • Any complaints of fellow members are to be handled maturely and made directly to a Guild Officer.

    • All complaints will be addressed directly with the member in question.

    • Repeated complaints or problems with one member will result in a disciplinary hearing by the Guild Officers.

    • Failure to comply with guild policies will result in disciplinary action.

    • Disciplinary action could include limitations on raiding or loot acquisition.

    • If disciplinary intervention fails to solve the problem, or if the problem is severe enough to warrant, removal from the guild will ensue.

Raiding
Impervious is an end-game raiding guild focused on progress. Our raiding schedule is 4 nights a week. While the 3 unscheduled nights each week are open to player choice, it is expected that all members dedicate enough time to their character outside of raiding to allow for self-progression. This includes farming money for repairs, necessary reagents, potions, or other components, as well as obtaining any required keys, factions, or attunements. At this time, we require a minimum of 75% participation in guild raids. Our current raiding times are as follows:

Monday 6:00-9:00 PST
Tuesday 6:00-9:00 PST
Wednesday 6:00-9:00 PST
Thursday 6:00-9:00 PST

Raiding Characters and Talents

Each member of Impervious is expected to have one declared raiding character to hold the rank of Raider or higher. Any other character will be labeled an Alternate. You are expected to focus mainly on this character and with it maintain the appropriate level, skill, equipment (including standard and resistance or other required alternate sets), funding, and participation.

Main characters are expected to have a talent setup that is most beneficial to a raiding environment.

During any guild raid or activity, the follow things are expected from all members.

• Everyone is expected to be on time and prepared at the start of the raid. All raids are scheduled to begin at 6:00 PST. This means be at the location and ready to zone in and start at that time, no later. If you must be late, you are expected to notify a Guild Officer or the Raid Leader in advance. If you have not provided adequate notice, your spot in the raid may be forfeit.

• Come prepared. Read and be familiar with all strategies for the night before raid time. You should fully understand what is expected of you before the raid begins.

• Come fully stocked on any supplies that you will need for the night. This includes potions, poisons, ammo, bandages and reagents. Bring enough of these things to account if extras are required.

• Repair. Make sure all gear is fully repaired in advance. You are expected to maintain enough money to keep up with your repairs.

• Bring any extra armor or weapons that you may need including resistance gear. You are expected to acquire needed resistance gear.

• Pay attention and be focused. Listen to all instructions closely. Everyone is expected to give 100%.

• All raid members are expected to be on Mumble. You are expected to be able to speak in Mumble for on-the-fly decision making (call out when dead, using a rez, popping raid CDs etc...)

• No chatting in raid or vent. The raid channel and vent are for raid instructions and strategies. Do not disrupt either channel with chit-chat. While we may have fun sometimes in Vent and Chat, if a Guild Officer or Raid Leader asks for it to cease, please immediately respect that and focus.

• Do not frequently go AFK. Real life happens, children or parents require attention, we understand things come up, however please do not make it a habit of going AFK constantly. Do not AFK if you die: A combat rez may come at any time, as well as regular rezzes after combat. Please do not hold up the raid because you are AFK. Repeated offenders will be disciplined.

• Have all required mods installed and working properly.

• Be responsible for your play-style. This means do not pull agro, make sure your damage/healing output is acceptable and neither lacking nor excessive, and make certain that you are performing all roles that are expected of you, including crowd control, buffing, rezzing, etc.

• Be committed. If you sign up for a raid, expect that you will be raiding for the full time. No one will be permitted to leave a raid for another activity, including PVP. Again, we know that real life happens and situation arise that may interrupt play time. This is acceptable but repeat or frequent instances of this will be addressed. Unexplained or repeated no-shows will also be disciplined. If you sign up, show up.

• This is a raiding guild. You will die learning new encounters. Expect it. Be ready for it. Embrace it. Whining and complaining will not be tolerated. Also, everyone loves repair bots. If you want to have one, donate bots or parts to the bank or bring one to be dropped on occasion.

• After a Boss is Dead, NO ONE is to loot until all dead raid members have been rezzed. This is a show of respect to your fellow Raiders. They are more important than the loot. This is a serious pet peeve, don't break this rule.

Attendance Policy

We require a 75% raid attendance rate from all of our raiders. This means that you must be signed up, on time, and available for at least 75% of all scheduled raids. We need raiders who are consistently available and active and familiar with the encounters and strategies we are working on as a guild. We cannot progress if we constantly have to teach encounter basics to new people every night.

Overflow

Any signed raider that does not make it into the first round of raid invites is considered “overflow.” These people will be invited into the raid as needed or as spaces become available. If you are overflow you are expected to be ready to raid as soon as you are required. This means staying online for the duration of the raid.

Extended Absences

We understand that events occur in real life that may lead to reduced game time. If such an event should occur, Raiders are expected to notify a Guild Officer as soon as possible. Raiders who do not raid for 1 month or longer will be reduced to Friend status and will face a 2 week re-initiation period upon returning before they will be promoted back to Raider. If any Raider is missing for 3 months or greater with no contact, he/she will be removed from the guild.
Recruits face tougher criteria. As this is an audition to join our raiding forces, we must be able to evaluate your performance and reliability. Any recruit that is not online for 15 days or more will be removed.

Retaining Membership

All members of Impervious will be under constant evaluation for both performance and behavior. This is a guild focused on progression and as such a certain skill level and level of commitment are required. If at anytime a member falls behind in any area we will attempt to work with that member to improve performance. If satisfactory improvement is not met, we reserve the right to revoke Raider status or remove said person from Impervious.

Returning Members or Re-Applicants

If there should arise a case of a member who has left Impervious wishing to reapply, or an recruit wishing for a second opportunity, each person will be addressed on a case-by-case basis by the Guild Officers. A panel will be called consisting of the Guild Leader and Officers to address the case. An open vote to all guild members may also be called. Each case will be treated individually and the reacceptance of an individual will take into account the initial reasons for removal as well as any changes or progress that have occurred since. If reacceptance is permitted, the person will be placed at Recruit status and must complete the probationary period satisfactorily.

Recruitment and Initiates

While the exact recruitment needs of Impervious will change, we will always accept applications for review. Our specific recruitment openings at any time will be listed in our recruitment forum. Please check there for recruitment status and application information before applying. Our recruitment requirements are as follows:

• You must read, understand, and agree to all Guild Policies.

• A stable internet connection that allows for effective raid performance and can support all required addons and tools.

• You must be available for raiding during our standard raiding schedule. We raid on Monday through Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 PST. At this time we require 75% raid attendance of all members.

• We will be checking to see that all potential recruits have the gear to support raiding experience.

• You must be able to use Ventrilo during raiding times. A working microphone is preferred.

• You must maintain functioning resistance sets and be aware that you may be required to farm new resistance gear as we progress through instances.

• You must be fully knowledgeable of your class and what skills are required to play it.

Once an application is reviewed by guild administrators, the applicant may be interviewed by the Guild Leader and Guild Officers. After the interviews are performed, the information will be discussed by the Guild Officers and the decision to invite or not will be made.

All new recruits will hold the rank of Recruit. During this stage, all activities of the Recruit are under close scrutiny. If at the end of the Recruit period, or at any time during, an Recruit does not meet the requirements of the guild, he/she will be asked to leave.

Required Mods and Addons

The following mods and addons are required to raid with Impervious. Your internet connection and system must be stable enough to not only raid effectively, but to raid effectively with these tools active.

• Ventrilo – It is preferred that all members have a working microphone, but not required. You are required to listen during all raids as most strategies and changes will be discussed over Vent. Please be aware of your volume level. Do not blare loud music, scream, or be otherwise disrespectful to other listeners. While we understand the social aspects of a guild, we ask that during raid times, vent banter be kept to a minimum, particularly on learning nights. It is intended primarily as a tool for raid performance. http://www.ventrilo.com

• Deadly Boss Mods – http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/4940/ or another addon of similar functionality.

• Omen Threat Meter (or another mod to monitor your threat) – All members must have this running and monitor it closely at all times. Be aware of your threat level and adjust damage or healing accordingly. If you are very low, you can push harder. If you are too high, back off a bit.

• EPGP Lootmaster – This mod is required for you to be able to request an item that drops using our EPGP System. You only need to install the Lootmaster Core part of the mod, not the ML part of it. http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/epgp_lootmaster.aspx

Loot Rules

Impervious now uses the EPGP Loot System.

EP/GP is a relational loot system (Effort Points / Gear Points = Priority Rating). Everyone has three numbers that change based on their raiding activity. When you spend time raiding and/or killing bosses, your effort points (EP) go up. (Imagine this as the attendance we used to look at). When you receive loot, your gear points (GP) go up. (Imagine this as the loot history we used to look at). If you divide EP by GP (hence the name), you get a third number: priority (PR). (Imagine this as the final decision we would make in Loot Council). This last number is what determines who gets loot.

One important note that everyone needs to understand is that this is NOT DKP. DKP is like cash: you earn it and you spend it. EP/GP isn’t like that. EP and GP always go up. Only your PR changes. If EP goes up, PR goes up. If GP goes up, PR goes down. It isn’t important how much of either you have, what’s important is your relative standing among other people in the guild.

Off-Spec Loot Rules

For Off-Spec Loot (Loot that no Main Spec would like) we will be using a Roll system to distribute this. Once we determine that no Mainspecs want the loot, the Master Looter will tell those that bid Offspec to roll. In order to roll for Off-Spec loot you must be in the position that you will actually use the Off-Spec loot item and you must also have a raid attendance of over 75% within the last 30 days. Note: Those that use that particular Offspec in our raids will have priority to those that do not.

nice to have visible rules that are easy to read and even easier to show where people are messing up.
Thanks :-)
